Vera Ilona Stierli is a dance artist from Switzerland. She has studied at Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden (BA Bühnentanz), with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (apprenticeship) and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London (MA Dance Performance). Vera works internationally with project-based dance companies, which include: Quizzical Körper and Cie Sabine Hausherr. Vera was a member of the Transitions Dance Company 2015/2016, where she began deep research in the field of improvisation and creativity for her MA Thesis, combining such findings with the ‘Flow Theory’ by Csiksgentmihalyi. Furthermore, Vera co-runs the dance festival BETA Stage in Bern Switzerland.

 

Vera grew up in Bern in close relationship with river Aare. From late spring until early autumn, she visits Aare frequently and goes for a swim.
